Robert R. Grosscurth, in his 85th year, passed away on March 1, 2026, after a lengthy illness at Cumberland Pointe, St. Clairsville, Ohio. Robert Reed Grosscurth (Bobby) was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on March 23, 1941, to parents Robert and Margaret Grosscurth, the third of four children. He was the last Grosscurth in the family line (that we know of).
He spent two years in the Army during the Vietnam War and attended Madison School. He was a long-time employee of Straub Maintenance Garage. He was married to Bernice for a few years who preceded him in death. No children were born to them.
In addition to his parents, Uncle Bobby was predeceased by his aunt, Virginia Kasley, uncle, John Kasley, sisters, Mary Parry Goldbaugh, Margaret Campbell and Katherine Miller Schenerlein, brothers-in-law, Alan Parry, George Goldbaugh, Bill Campbell, Jr., Lee Miller and Ed Schenerlein, nephews, Bill Campbell, III, and Randy Miller.
Surviving are his nephews and nieces, whom he treasured during his lifetime, Karen (Russell) Beveridge, Dave (Holly) Parry, Mike (Linda) Parry, Gene (Stephanie) Parry, Sharon (Glenn) Johnson, Helen (James) Hager-Bradley, Harry (Debi) Campbell, Margaret (Jerry) Hindman, Chris (Theresa) Miller and Mary Campbell, as well as many great-nephews and great-nieces, cousins and friends.
Uncle Bobby was a giving, generous man who lived a quiet life, never complaining about his lot in life. His niece Karen committed her time to the best of her ability taking care of him during his stay at Cumberland Pointe. Her efforts along with the Amedisys will be remembered for Bobby’s end-of-life care. The family would like to thank the staff of Cumberland Pointe for their many years of care for our uncle.
