Betty J. (Crane) Scott-Orkish

Betty J. Scott-Orkish, 82 of Shadyside Care Center, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026.  She was born December 26, 1943, in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Herman and Garnet (Johnson) Crane. 

She retired from the Bridgeport School District and was a faithful member of the Riverview Bible Church.  She found joy in volunteering at the House of the Carpenter, and Bridgeport Food Pantry.  She loved to feed the deer, garden, plant her flowers and worked at the Church camp every year.   Betty ‘s spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as she touched many lives through her kindness.  Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.  May she rest in eternal peace. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Scott in 1997, her second husband, Thomas M. Orkish in 2015, daughter, Vickie Lynn Scott in 1960, siblings, Herman E., Thomas and Linda Crane, and Marie Patterson.   

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jackie (Joe) Shinoski, Beverly J. Dodson and Marcy J. (Craig) Kidney, 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, siblings, Charles (Kimberly) Crane, Violet Schemancik, Pam (Gary) Green and Kimberly (Joe) Hores complete her family. 

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 11 till time of funeral service at 2pm with Pastor Kevin Rwoland officiating at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, OH 43912.  Interment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
