Randy “Rampage” Gramlich, 75, of Beallsville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 while a patient in WVU Medicine, Wheeling Hospital. He was born February 15, 1949 in Bellaire Hospital, Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Ben and Nelda Thomas Gramlich.
Randy was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having proudly served in the 4th Infantry Division, 124th Signal Battalion at Camp Enari (also known as “Dragon Mountain Base Camp”) south of Pleiku in South Vietnam. He was a member of American Legion Post 768, Beallsville. Randy retired from Ohio Valley Coal Company near Beallsville after 40 years of service. He enjoyed deer hunting and he was a huge Nascar fan; Dale Earnhardt was his favorite driver. He was happiest simply spending time with family. His years as “Pappy,” to his 13 year-old granddaughter, Kamryn brought him the greatest joy of his life.
Left to honor his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Kathy Jo Perkins Gramlich; two sons, Ben “BJ” Gramlich (Kelly Winkleman) of Byesville and Ty (Maranda) Gramlich of Beallsville; his treasured granddaughter, Kamryn; seven siblings Kathy Jo Gramlich of Cambridge, Jill Adams (Dave Falls) of Scio, Jay (Betty) Gramlich of Jerusalem, Jon (Liz) Gramlich of Beallsville, Kara (Greg) Kahrig of Washington, Pennsylvania, Jody (Mark) Neff of Cambridge, and Jasmine Green of Wooster; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
In keeping with Randy's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held; burial will be in Beallsville Cemetery. To celebrate his life, a gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, April 27th at 12 noon at the Jerusalem School on Moore Ridge Road.
